Our Staff

Kathy Kentala

Kathy Kentala, Owner and Instructor

Kathy Kentala has been involved in horses since she was a child growing up in Michigan. She taught her three daughters to ride, and they successfully showed their way through numerous 4-H, open show and equestrian team State championships, Regional Top Fives, and Arabian Youth Nationals. Kathy oversees our Riding Camps and teaches group lessons from beginners to advanced, as well as adult daytime lessons. She has a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan and was a burn/trauma nurse for ten years. She has also been involved with Healing the Children, a not-for-profit organization that provides children from third-world countries surgeries unavailable in their own country. Her love for children, horses, and the warm weather of Texas has brought her south for us to enjoy her positive, encouraging, and strong teaching skills.

Kelly Kentala

Kelly Kentala, Instructor

Kelly Kentala is our office manager, "short stirrups" instructor, and private lesson instructor. She has been involved with horses since she could walk! She started showing and jumping her P.O.A. pony, then advanced to the tough Michigan Arabian show circuit. She has taught riding lessons for five years in both Texas and Puerto Rico. She holds a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the California School of Arts and Crafts.

Amy Talley

Amy Talley, Instructor

Amy Talley, our Assistant Camp Director, has a degree in Biology from UT-Austin. She has been an instructor at BCRC for nearly six years and teaches the importance of correct basics in beginner hunter/jumper and dressage. Dressage is her main focus in training her own horse, Rubin Hood, with whom she has competed at the regional level to many championships. Amy also owns her own training barn, Sherwood Stables, which focuses mainly on Dressage and acts as another extension to Bee Cave Riding Center. She enjoys combining her equestrian talents with her love of children and is excited to be training the next generation of riders.

Lee Gothard

Lee Gothard, Instructor

Lee Gothard has been riding and working with horses since she was a young child in San Antonio. Lee began showing Hunters at the age of eleven and went on to have a very successful show career both in and out of Texas. She achieved multiple state championships as well as national rrankings in the Large Jr. Hunter division. After taking time off to earn her Early Childhood Education degree, get married, and have 3 great kids, she has returned to her love for horses. Now she is combining her riding skills with her experience as an educator to teach all levels of riders. She's focused on working with our intermediate to advanced hunter riders, furthering their skills and show readiness. She looks forward to returning to the THJA show circuit with her BCRC students.
